5 Tips for Selling at The Attic around Finals Week

1. Finals week at The Attic is BUSY!  To avoid having to wait for hours, get in early.  Try to bring your clothes in during the weeks preceding finals.  If you can’t beat the rush, you can always call ahead and find out what the wait times are like at your Attic location.  We accept items any day up to one hour before the store closes, no appointment necessary.

2. Fill your bags with items we are looking for.  You don’t want to spend a lot of time lugging last year’s winter coat down the block when we are buying for summer.  In general, at all our stores, we are buying young and modern styles for men and women and some vintage items that mimic current styles.  Modern items should be from this year or last year and in excellent condition.  We are currently buying for spring and summer - no heavy winter coats or sweaters or winter boots.  Call your Attic location to find out if there are specific things they are looking for when you sell.

3. Know our policies.  To make sure we can accommodate everyone who sells each day we can only accept 2 bags of items per person per day.  We also require a driver’s license or other form of government-issued photo ID to make sure everyone who sells to us is over 18.  If you are under 18, just bring a parent or guardian with you!

4. Drop them off and pick them up later.  If you can’t stay in the store while we’re going through your items, or if their is a long wait, you are welcome to drop your bags off with us and come back within 24 hours to pick up your cash or credit and any items we were unable to buy.  The only time we require you to be in the store while we are buying is if you are concerned about the individual prices of your clothes - if so, just let us know when you bring them in!

5. Use bags, not boxes.  Old shopping bags, big tote bags, or household garbage bags are all easy ways to get your items to our stores.  When our stores get busy, we do have to enforce our no boxes, no hangers policy.

We look forward to getting all the great stuff you guys will be selling in the coming weeks!  Check out our website for more info on bringing things in, or stop by and ask one of our lovely employees!
